the second half of the sixteenth century for Tizio di Spoleto, the butler of
Cardinal Alessandro Farnese
On the FAÇADE
very elegant stuccos with lilies, symbol of the Farnese family, and frescoes
with “Stories from the life of Saint Eustace” painted before 1575 by Federico Zuccari (about 1542/1609)
It is one
of the few remaining painted façades in Rome
In the
sixteenth century many buildings were painted and all these colorful
decorations were a major source of wonder for visitors to the city
