Via Casilina km 8/incrocio Via Palmiro Togliatti
Domed
building with articulated and complex plan, maybe dating back to the fourth
century AD
The
dimensions are 30 x 25 m (98 x 82 feet) to a height of 9 m (30 feet)
The
original function is unknown
The
location at the edge of the ancient Via Labicana would suggest a burial
function but the complexity of the building leads to doubt it
It may
have had commercial functions or it may have been a nympheum (fountain)
although there is no trace of hydraulic pipes
