“It is evident in this work the intent to put together themes from Bernini and Borromini on the basis of the effect of 'surreal' appearance, of the method of display of faith, but between the visions of the sacred proposed by the two masters the distance remains unbridgeable as it is demonstrated by the very different way in which the angelic image enters their figurative repertoire. For Bernini the angel does introduce a dynamic element that communicates with the architectural structure without joining the structure himself. (...) For Borromini the angel, most of the time, enters into the architectural compound and accepts the rules, becomes an angelic herm following the example of the classical world” (Paolo Portoghesi)
