A striking
futuristic octagonal structure in reinforced concrete covered with laminated
wood and copper
“The
octagonal plan allows, with its regularity, an original spatial distribution in
the research for centrality in which the congregation is costar with the altar.
(...) The 'Canadian tile', in terms of implementation, adapts well to each
slope, and the end result is a sort of spatial scan in the roof created by a
pattern of considerable interest. The highly distinctive element that is
perceived from the outset is the roof itself that extends above the building
wrapping it in so fluidly, softly, extending as a protection for the assembly
gathering in the church” (Official Website of the Parish of St. Francis de
Sales - www.sanfrancescodisales.it)
