10 AD, built for the consuls Gaius Dolabella and Gaius Junius Silano according to the inscription
Maybe it is a reconstruction of the PORTA CELIMONTANA (Caelimontana Gate) of the Servian Walls
Later it was reused to support the aqueduct of Nero, a branch of the Aqua Claudia
It served as home to S. Giovanni de Matha (1160/1213) who used two rooms in the pier of the aqueduct
