AMERICAN ACADEMY

ACCADEMIA AMERICANA
Designed in 1890 by Charles Follen McKim (1847/1909) the architect of the Boston Public Library and the Library of Columbia University in New York
Built in the years 1910/15 after the death of the American architect
It houses the library of the American Academy with about 106,000 volumes relating especially to archeology and art history
The actual home of the Academy is in nearby Villa Aurelia in Piazzale Aurelio
