ARCH OF "DRUSUS"

ARCO DI "DRUSO"
211/216, monumental arch over the Via Appia for the Aqua Antoniniana branch of the Aqua Marcia, to feed the Baths of Caracalla
It was mistakenly called Arch of Drusus and believed to be a triumphal arch for centuries
The Vicus Drusianus where the real Arch of Drusus was, as described by the sources, probably corresponds to the current Via Druso
At the beginning of the fifth century it was used as the inner door of the Porta Appia, to which it was connected by two walls, now disappeared, creating a courtyard
