On the right end side there is the gate of the former papal residence of S. Pius V Ghislieri (1566/72) completed in 1567 by Giovanni Lippi aka Nanni di Baccio Bigio (about 1513/68)
It is also known as CASALE DEL CROCIFISSO, Country House of the Crucifix
In early 1900s it was bought by Queen Margherita of Savoy to be used as a HOSPICE FOR THE BLIND
