1619 with the adjoining monastery for Cardinal Antonio Barberini, brother of Pope Urban VIII (1623/44)
It was entrusted to the Sisters of the Good Shepherd of Angers. They used to help women of "ill repute" who wanted to redeem themselves: raped minors whose parental rights had been entrusted to the guardianship court, young orphans forced into prostitution or former prisoners from the nearby Mantellate Prison
The monastery was enlarged by Virginio Vespignani (1808/82)
The original name was S. CROCE DELLE SCALETTE (St. Cross of the Ladders) or S. CROCE ALLA LUNGARA (St. Cross in Lungara Street)
It stopped being used as a church in 1979 and it is now owned by the municipality that established here the International Women's House
Interior modified in the nineteenth century
Right altar "Annunciation" and MAIN Altar "Crucifix" both by Francesco Troppa
Left altar "Magdalene" by Ciccio da Napoli (active 1680/1700)
