according to Paolo Portoghesi, for Clement XI Albani (1700/21)
It was
demolished in the years 1937/61 with the adjacent monastery for the
construction of the Esattoria Comunale (Municipal Tax Building)
It remains
only the façade, restored in 2000
During the
demolition a Roman mosaic was found with “Battle of gladiators against wild
beasts” now kept in the Municipal Tax Building
