1654 G.B. Contini
(1641/1723)
The church
has been officiated since 2005, after many years of neglect
Painting “Virgin
Mary and the seven founder saints” by an eighteenth-century
anonymous artist
The church
is annexed to the PALACE OF THE CONVENT
OF THE MANTELLATE
1669 as Monastery
for the Nuns of the Visitation who remained here until 1793 when they were
replaced by a small community of eleven nuns, followers of St. Juliana
Falconieri, also known as Mantellate, because of the short-sleeved habit
(mantello) adopted to facilitate work
It was
converted in 1881 by Carlo Mongini in Women's Prison
After
the construction of the Rebibbia Prison the palace became barracks for the
keepers of the Regina Coeli Prison
