LABICO

Altitude 319 m (1,050 feet). 4,300 inhabitants

The name of the town was originally Lugnano and it took the name Labico in 1880 from the ancient city that actually originally stood in between Montecompatri and Colonna

On the tufa rock on which the town stands there are TWO SECTIONS OF A WALL that were part of the ancient Castle of Lugnano, dating back at least to the thirteenth century

They were were originally towers incorporated into the walls of fortification

Not far from the village. Tank of water which is said to be part of the Baths of Mammea, the mother of Alexander Severus (222/235)
