the town was originally Lugnano and it
took the name Labico in 1880 from the
ancient city that actually originally stood in between Montecompatri and
Colonna
On the tufa
rock on which the town stands there are TWO SECTIONS OF A WALL that were part
of the ancient Castle of Lugnano, dating back at least to the thirteenth
century

were originally towers incorporated into the walls of fortification
